Garlic Kheer Recipe / Lehsun Kheer Recipe, also called Benami Kheer Recipe, is basically a kheer made from garlic in milk. It is delicious and also nutritious.

It is said that it is a Mughlai dish or a dish of Mughal kings. Mughals introduced it in India. On the occasion of the Eid festival and other happy occasions of Muslims, eating Kheer is a popular practice of Muslims.

Later it was adopted by people of other religions besides Muslims. It was started to cook on the occasion of special worship in temples and people were fed.

Lahsun / Garlic Kheer is made in three ways in India. Or we can say that there are three Indian versions.1) South Indian version  2) North Indian version and 3) East Indian version.

In the North Indian method, garlic is boiled lightly dried and put in boiled milk. And then some more time it is cooked. In the South Indian recipe, garlic is cooked lightly in ghee and then added to boiled milk and cooked for a while. In the East Indian method, fruits are widely used in the Kheer and are made thinner than Kheer of North India and South India.

Now, this Lahsun / Garlic Kheer dish is very famous in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal. And it is eaten with hobbies. Very few ingredients are required in this recipe and are easily available in the market.

Garlic Kheer Recipe Ingredients / Benami Kheer Recipe Ingredients

  • 1-liter milk
  • 50 grams of sugar
  • 75 grams garlic
  • 2 teaspoons cardamom
  • 2 tablespoons pistachios small pieces

Recipe for Garlic Kheer Recipe / Benami Kheer Recipe

  1. Put the pot on the gas and add milk and sugar. After that, cook the milk on low flame for 30 minutes.
  2. Put the utensil on another gas, add a little water and garlic and heat the garlic in boiling water for 5 minutes. Turn off the gas on heating.
  3. After the milk completes 30 minutes, add heated garlic, cardamom, and pistachios and mix for 15 more minutes. When cooked, turn off the gas and serve the kheer.

Note: This is a North Indian Lahsun / Garlic Kheer Recipe of Kheer. If you want to make South Indian or East Indian type recipe, then make the changes mentioned above in the beginning.
